Survival Rate, Chemical and Microbial Properties of Oak Seedlings Planted with or without Oak Forest Soils in a Black Locust Forest of a Dryland

چکیده
Native tree species are frequently unable to effectively grow in non-native cultivation scenarios. In the Loess Plateau, China, it is difficult find native oak (Quercus liaotungensis) seedlings black locust forests. Black an arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) tree, but ectomycorrhizal (ECM) tree. Plants highly depend on their symbiotic fungi take up water, nitrogen (N) and other nutrients. We hypothesized that forests would not provide ECM inoculum seedlings, limiting water nutrient uptake, which be improved by inoculum. Here, we (1) sowed seeds, with or without forest soils, (2) transplanted collected forests, (3) planted germinated autoclaved unautoclaved soils. measured survival growth rate for all three experiments, along chemical properties, root colonization. Oak seeds soils had higher colonization, leaf N concentrations rate, lower δ13C than Planting also increased of seedlings. Overall, our study suggested use improve uptake providing inoculum, resulting a high rate. Our implies method sowing was effortless compared transplanting wild/nursery

The impact of fire on the forest and plants diversity in Iranian Oak forest
Fire, as a natural ecological disturbance factor in forest, this study located in the Marivan region, Northern Zagros forest, and western Iranian state of Kurdistan. In each burned and unburned area 30 circle sample plot (1000 m2) were collected by randomized–systematic method in the 100×200 m net (in total 60 plots). In every sample plot the kind of species, number of tree, the heig...
متن کاملPhysiological and phenological responses of oak seedlings to oak forest soil in the absence of trees.
Established trees influence the growth and physiology of seedlings by altering above- and belowground conditions; however, tree influences on seedling physiology via belowground interactions are not well understood. We used soil transfers to an open field to examine the belowground influences of a Quercus ellipsoidalis E.J. Hill dominated forest on Q. ellipsoidalis seedling mycorrhizal infectio...
متن کاملMating patterns of black oak Quercus velutina (Fagaceae) in a Missouri oak-hickory forest.
Wind-pollinated forest trees usually have high outcrossing rates, but allogamy does not necessarily translate into high pollen movement. The goal of this study was to determine the outcrossing rates, pollen pool genetic structure, and the size of the effective pollination neighborhood in a population of black oak, Quercus velutina, in a Missouri oak-hickory forest. Based on 6 allozyme loci, 12 ...
